Here at Dodo Film Lab we believe film photography should be accessible to everyone. That’s why we’re committed to fair prices and friendly support. We offer a range of popular film stocks and a range of development and processing solutions for our customers.

Who We Are

We’re an independent family run business run by husband and wife Michael & Savannah.

We started Dodo Film Lab after disappointing experiences with other film labs. To begin with we were buying film in bulk to save money on film for our own use, and selling the rest of the film to our friends so they could save money. Then friends of friends started getting involved and we quickly struggled to keep up with demand.

At the same time we were developing black and white film in our kitchen in the evenings, and would develop rolls for friends.

In February 2026 we started Dodo Film Lab, where we continue to offer film at fair prices, along with a wide range of lab services.

We pride ourselves on providing film at fair prices as we feel the barrier for entry should be as low as possible. Back when we started photography we could buy rolls of film for £3 and even pick up colour film in pound shops, before getting them developed in the local supermarket. While we don’t think we can make the world go back to that time, the freedom to explore different styles and to learn photography was a feeling that’s stayed with us both.

Now we hope we get to enjoy sharing your journey, whether picking up a roll of film for the first time, or your a professional stocking up their own film fridge.

What we do

We work with the UKs leading distributors to source film as fresh as possible from the manufacturers. We stock small runs and restock frequently to ensure only the freshest film leaves us. We store all our film in fridges while its here, this helps ensure the chemistry remains as fresh as possible.

We know how important it is to receive your orders in a timely and safe manner, that why we exclusively use tracked services so we can be sure that our film reaches your front door.

Our lab offers a range of services to help you get the best results from your film, knowing full well that the moments captured on teh film are irreplicable.

Why “Dodo”?

This ones simple, Dodo is the name of our Dachshund puppy.
