How We Look After The Film We Sell

We like film here, no we LOVE film. We think film is great. We think buying film that’s been stored badly isn’t. So we’d like to take a minute to show you how we store our film and ensure it gets to you in as good a condition as possible.

Step 1 - Buy Fresh

Much like juice, film is best when its fresh. We work closely with our suppliers to ensure we get film with as long an expiry date as possible. This ensures you’re getting some of the freshest film you can in the UK. Another thing we do is ensure that we manage are stock levels as best as possible. No one wants to buy film that’s sat around for ages because we over ordered.

Step 2 - Keep Cool

We store our film in fridges which is ideal at preserving the chemistry. This may be a little overkill for you at home, but you should protect your new film from heat. Most film is best when stored under 13 degrees Celsius.

Step 3 - Pick & Pack

So let say you’ve just placed an order for some film, that’s when the real work here starts.

We head to our fridges and find the film you’ve ordered. We then select a box which is appropriately sized, a little like Goldilocks, too small: film gets squashed, too big: film flies around and gets knocked about.

Then we say goodbye to the film and close the box, throwing in a little hand written thank you note to show we care.

We address the box (so it can get to you) and apply a sticker instructing the postman to be careful with the film, keeping it away from x rays, CT scans, and heat.

Step 4 - Post

What’s that… you’ve ordered before 4pm? In that case all this was done before the end of the day so we can get your parcel out to you that same day! Our post is collected around 5.30pm if times allow we will get any orders placed after 4pm in the post same day too.

We only send domestic (UK) orders out by Royal Mail tracked services. You will be sent a tracking code once the order is packed which you can use to follow our films journey as it leaves us and makes its way in the big wide world to find its forever home. Aww.
